Customer Car Feature: 2018 Golf R MK 7.5 with Full Maxton Lip Kit

The Golf R Mk 7.5 2018 is an upgraded version of the Mk 7 Golf that debuted in 2013. Under the hood of small hot hatch you'll find it seriously packs a punch with a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 169kW of power. The Torque remains consistent with the 2013 models featuring 350Nm.

The 2018 Mk 7.5 will reach 100km/h in 6.4 seconds and comes into transmission models; a six-speed manual a d the optional six-speed DSG automatic.

At AusBody Works the Golf GTI's are a custom favourite and it's no wonder with the performance and style that comes all in one with these hot hatches.

What kind of car do you own?

2018 Golf R MK 7.5

How long have you owned the car?

I've only owned the car for 3 weeks from around the start of May 2018.

What did you own prior to your current car?

Prior to this I owned a Mitsubishi Evo X.

Why did you choose this car? What appeals to you the most?

i wanted something with comfort and style for daily driving but also something with performance that I can enjoy on weekends.

The Golf GTI is the best of both worlds and is easily tuned and upgraded to get even more performance out of it.

What work have you completed on the car so far?

I've only owned the car for a short period of time but in that time I've already made a number of performance upgrades.

  • Full Maxton performance lip kit from AusBody Works
  • Vogtland springs
  • Carbon mirror covers
  • 10mm/15mm wheel spacers
  • Upgraded brake pads

What work would you like to do to your car in the future?

The car is scheduled to get an ecu/dsg tune from a local performance shop, full exhaust and intake system installed as well.

What type of bodykit does have on the car?

Currently the only bodykit work that has been completed is the Full Maxton Performance Lip Kit as sold through AusBody Works.

What mistakes have you made? Did you waste money on trying to change your car?

It's a learning curve when modding cars, some ideas we get from reading car forums, some its trial and error. So far i haven't done anything to the car that i regret so i guess i haven't made any mistakes.
